The family of the late Paddy “Wal” Smith, Glenmore Drive, Drogheda, who passed away, suddenly but peacefully, on 17th January 2025, would like to acknowledge the many expressions of sympathy and gestures shown to us on our great loss of our wonderful Dad and Grandad. We greatly appreciate the phone calls, messages, mass cards, flowers and condolences on RIP.ie. Our sincere thanks to the ICU nurses in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, for the wonderful care and kindness shown to us and Dad while he was in their care.
Thank you Fr. Piotr for such a lovely mass, David and Niamh Leddy for the beautiful music and musical tribute to Dad, it was just perfect. We would also like to thank the staff and students of the Sacred Heart School for their guard of honour from the school to the graveyard it was so very much appreciated and a lovely way to take dad home. Thank you to Southgate Florist for the beautiful family flowers.
We would like to thank our wonderful family, friends, and our neighbours in Glenmore Drive who supported us, by joining us in person or via the live streamed mass, to pay tribute to Dad. To all of you who called to our home to pay respects to Dad we are extremely grateful and it was lovely to hear all the wonderful memories you have of Dad.
Heartfelt thanks to the wonderful people in Townley’s Funeral Directors who guided us through a very tough time in our lives. Their kindness, care, empathy, understanding and absolute professionalism helped us navigate this heart breaking time. Your support, care and compassion were a great comfort to us.
Dad will be deeply and sadly missed and will be treasured and remembered by us always.
As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our heartfelt thanks. The Holy sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
Paddy’s months’ mind will be held on Sunday 16th February @ 12pm in Our Lady of Lourdes Church. The mass can be viewed on www.saintpetersdrogheda.ie
