Pat McManus

 Pat McManus

Athlone, Westmeath / Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Marie, the wife of the late Pat McManus, his children Philip, James, Patrick, Linda & Marie, grandchildren Brian & wife Chloe, Philip & wife Heather, Clare & husband Gary, Joe and Luke, great grandchildren, sons-in-law Brian & Stephen, daughters-in-law Ashling & Siobhan would like to sincerely thank those who called to see them, for the many cards, text messages, letters and condolences on RIP sent over the past four weeks. Our neighbours, family and friends who travelled from all over the country, family and friends in Australia, New Zealand, and UK for the constant contact from so far. As a family we are overwhelmed by the support.

As a family we gave Pat his last wish in life, to be at home with the four generations of his adoring family around him, without the Westmeath Palliative Care Team, Dr. McGrath from the Town Centre Surgery, Stephen Cloonan from McGorisk Pharmacy and most importantly the night nurse Sue from the Irish Cancer Society, without you all this would not have been possible, and we will be forever grateful.

Manfred, Geraldine, William and Staff from Killinure chalets for giving Pat one last trip to his favourite place. To all the musicians who took time out of their holidays to play Pat's favourite music one last time for him. Nathan for taking his time to record Pat's celebration of life to ensure everyone got to share his celebration all over the world and future generations to see the legacy left behind.

Seamus Flynn and son's for their fantastic support during an extremely difficult time for us as a family. We thank Inland Waterways Association, CSIG project, Buccaneers Rugby Club, and Athlone Sub Aqua Club, who gave Pat many years doing what he loved. The celebrant Bernice Farrell who celebrated Pat's life with such dignity he deserved.

The family of the late Pat McManus will forever be grateful to you all -

A Successful Man

Author Unknown

“That man is a success –
who has lived well,
laughed often and loved much;
who has gained the respect of intelligent men
and the love of children;
who has filled his niche
and accomplished his task;
who leaves the world better
than he found it;
who has never lacked appreciation of earth’s beauty
or failed to express it.;
who looked for the best in others
and gave the best he had.
