who passed away peacefully on Tuesday 19th July 2022.

Mansey’s wife Mary and family wish to sincerely thank all those who sympathised and supported them in their recent bereavement. A sincere thanks to those who attended Mansey’s removal, funeral mass and burial. Thanks to those who travelled long distances to be with us, and to those who participated in the funeral mass via the webcam. We are also very grateful to everyone who called, came with food, sent mass cards, letters of sympathy, flowers or assisted us in any way.

The kindness, help and support we received from our extended family, friends and neighbours over the years, and in the wake of Mansey’s passing, will never be forgotten. A special thanks to the many loyal friends, who always had a warm welcome for Mansey when he called to see them, and who kept in contact and visited him at home as his health declined.

Our sincere thanks to Dr. Gallagher, Dr. Murray and the staff of Lakeshore Medical Centre who looked after Mansey during his long illness and to the many wonderful carers who helped care for him at home. Thanks also to our public health nurse Breda Reidy, for her support and advice over the years, and to the staff of Portiuncula hospital, Ballinasloe who also cared for Mansey on several occasions. A special word of thanks to the staff of ‘Crannógs’, St. Brendan’s Community Nursing Unit, who cared for Dad in his final months with compassion, kindness, and professionalism.

We would like to sincerely thank Monsignor Cathal Geraghty for celebrating Mansey’s life in a beautiful Requiem Mass as well as Fr. Raymond Sweeney who concelebrated the mass. Thanks also to Fr. Michael and Fr. Tony who visited Mansey on First Fridays with the Blessed Eucharist, as well as other priests who did so over the years.

Thanks to Eilish O’Neill and the Loughrea Cathedral Choir whose music and singing greatly enhanced Mansey’s funeral mass and to the sacristan Rhona Horgan for preparing the church so well.

A sincere thanks to the gravediggers for the careful attention given to preparing Mansey’s final resting place.

Thanks to the management and staff of The Lough Rea Hotel for the lovely meal after the burial.

Our sincere appreciation and gratitude to Sean Cleary and the staff of Kilboy's Funeral Directors for their sensitive and professional handling of all the funeral arrangements. We are especially grateful to Joan Whelan for her kindness and expertise.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our sincere appreciation and gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.

Mansey’s Month’s Mind Mass will take place in St. Brendan’s Cathedral, Loughrea on
Saturday, 20th August, at 11am.
