 Patrick (Paddy) Maher

Friar's Hill, Wicklow Town, Wicklow / Kimmage, Dublin

Paddy’s wife Irene, his children Clíona, Emer, John & Declan & all his family wish to extend our heartfelt thanks for the many kind expressions of sympathy & support we received at the time of Paddy’s sad passing & throughout the weeks since.

While the restrictions of the time did not allow for a large gathering to celebrate Paddy’s life, we sincerely thank neighbours & friends who stood out to honour Paddy’s final journey, to those who attended his removal, funeral Mass & burial, sent Mass cards & flowers, those who phoned, wrote, text or shared thoughtful messages & happy memories online & those who donated generously to www.move4parkinsons.com or www.wicklowhospice.ie in Paddy’s memory.

Special thanks to the wonderful carers from Wicklow Community Services who assisted us over the years, to Dr Keane & the team at Salem Medical Centre for their great care & to all at Wicklow Hospice for bringing peace, comfort & dignity to Paddy’s final days.

Our heartfelt thanks to Fr Donal Roche for his friendship, guidance & beautiful funeral Mass, to the Funeral team at St Patrick’s Church & to Paddy’s dear friends Pat Byrne, Ailish & Elaine Porter & Lisa Murphy for their fabulous music. Paddy would have loved it !

To Paddy’s many friends & former colleagues from Abbey Community College & Wicklow V.E.C., the Move4Parkinsons Wicklow Choir & the Arklow & Wicklow Folk Groups, we thank you for your Guard of Honour, such a lovely mark of respect.

Thanks also to Ciarán Billington from The Café for his hospitality, to Chris Caffrey for tending to the grave & to all at John Sweeney & Sons Funeral Directors

As it would be impossible to thank everybody individually, we trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our sincere appreciation.

Paddy’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated on Sunday 11th July at 11.30am in St. Patrick’s Church & those who cannot attend are welcome to join via the parish webcam
