 Patrick (Pat) Carroll

Drogheda, Louth

The family of the late Patrick (Pat) Carroll, 250 Brookville, Drogheda, who passed away peacefully on 19th November 2022 would like to acknowledge the many expressions of sympathy and gestures shown to us on our sad loss. We greatly appreciate the phone calls, messages, Mass cards, letters, flowers, and condolences on RIP.ie.

Our sincere thanks to the medical personnel vital to Pat’s care in the past 7 years; his G.P. Conor O’Shea, the staff in Herlihy’s Pharmacy, consultants Eleanor Carton, Brendan Doyle, Catherine Sullivan, Síona Ní Raghallaigh, Emmet O’Brien, nephrologist Declan de Freitas, and transplant surgeon Mr. Richard Power; the staff in Beacon Renal where Pat received kidney dialysis 3 times a week; doctors, nurses and staff of Beaumont ICU, St. Peter’s ward Beaumont, and Clontarf hospital; Dr. Tidi Hassan and all the staff of Newgrange Level 1 in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, for their amazing care of Pat in the weeks prior to his death, Sr. Dervilla and the pastoral care team in OLOLH, for their support of Pat, and us, during his time in hospital, and Prof. Dominic O'Brannagain and the palliative care team at OLOLH.

Thank you to Canon Eugene Sweeney and Father David Bradley for celebrating such a beautiful requiem Mass, to Drogheda Male Voice Choir, and Eimear and Róisín for the very uplifting music, to Niall and Mark for the readings and to John for such a personal and fitting tribute to Pat.

Pat would have been especially proud of the roles played by his beloved grandchildren, Liam Annabelle, Holly, Róisín, Pádraig and Síomha on the day. Thank you to neighbours and friends who supported us, by joining us in person or via the live streamed Mass, to pay tribute to Pat. Thank you to Townley’s Funeral Directors, for guiding us through a very difficult time with care and sensitivity.

Thanks to the O’Raghallaighs G.F.C. for providing a guard of honour from house to church and to Drogheda Male Voice Choir for the guard of honour and beautiful rendition of “You’ll Never Walk Alone” in the cemetery.

Pat will be deeply and sadly missed and will always be remembered by those who knew and loved him.

As it is impossible to thank everybody individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our appreciation. The Holy sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.

Pat’s month’s mind Mass will be held on 18th December 2022 at 10:30a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Drogheda.
