Patrick (Whack) Shannon

 Patrick (Whack) Shannon

Arklow, Wicklow

Patrick’s wife AnnMarie, sons Patrick and Joseph, their partners, his grandchildren, brothers, sisters and extended family, would like to thank most sincerely those who supported and sympathised with them, during this time of great loss.

We offer our heartfelt thanks to everyone who called to our home, the funeral home, attended the funeral Mass and Cremation Service.  In particular, those who travelled long distances especially those who travelled from abroad and everyone that joined us via webcam. Thank you to all those who sent Mass Cards, letters, messages, texts and calls of sympathy, shared stories and memories, both online and in person.

A special word of thanks to all the Doctors, Nurses and staff at The Mater Hospital, for their constant support, friendship and the exceptional care given to Patrick throughout his life.  To the Palliative Care Team of Wicklow Hospice, who compassionately cared for Patrick in his final days, thank you so much.  To Dr. Bothwell, Dr. Coates, all the doctors, nurses and staff at Arklow Medical Practice, to the pharmacists and staff at Ferrybank Pharmacy, we thank you all for your help and support over the years.

To his mates at Arklow Community Men’s Shed, thank you for being there for a chat over a cuppa and a taxi when needed.

A sincere word of thanks to Fr. Martin Paravookaran for a wonderful uplifting Mass, to Michael Flood and Patricia Kavanagh for their beautiful music, to the team at Mount Jerome Crematorium and his brother Martin for the lovely tribute of Patrick’s life.

To all at The Arklow Bay Hotel for the delicious, food and refreshments provided afterwards, we thank you.

We are sincerely grateful to Hudsons Funeral Directors, especially Helena for her advice and professionalism in guiding us through Patrick’s final arrangements.

To those who helped in anyway, your contribution made our loss more bearable, we will be forever grateful.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted by all, as a true expression of our sincere appreciation and gratitude.  The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for your intentions.

Patrick’s Months Mind Mass will be held in the Church of Saints Mary and Peter, Arklow on Sunday 22nd February at 11.30am those who cannot attend, are welcome to join via webcam.
