The family of the late Peter Anthony Smith, Seapoint, Termonfeckin who passed away
peacefully on 16th February would like to express our sincere thanks and
appreciation to all of you who sympathised with us on our sad loss.
We really appreciated your phone calls messages mass cards flowers and
condolences on all platforms including RIP.ie.
We were overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and compassion shown to us since
Daddys passing with thousands showing up to pay their respects to our wonderful
Dad /Grandad.
Thank you to Dr Kandan and the team in Hilltop Centric Health for their wonderful
care and kindness to Dad and our family.
To Dr Paul Keelan and his team who did everything they could to keep Daddy with
us for the last 20 years.
To the District Nurses who were always there at the end of the phone when we
needed advice or help.
The community Palliative care team.
Our own angel Irene Mulholland.
Connected Health and all our wonderful carers including Valerie Leanne Louise
Denny Paul Dara and Tualla to name but a few who took such great care of Daddy
over the last couple of years, and of course our very own Marie O’Neill.
To Fr Paul Byrne for accommodating Dads wishes on his journey home.
Fr Nick Smith daddy’s beloved brother who travelled from America to participate in
his funeral mass.
Lifetime friends Fr Noel Hornick and Fr Iggy O’ Donovan and Deacon Pat Butterly for
helping to make the Funeral Mass a wonderful celebration of daddy’s life.
To Eugene Ginty for the beautiful singing and music.
To those who lined the route from the church to the cemetery from Seapoint, Co
Louth and Bettystown Golfclubs along with Drogheda United whose tributes have
meant so very much to us.
To Owen Kirwan and the Village of Termonfeckin our wonderful friends and
neighbours who helped organise parking and commuting between the house and
their cars and kept our village safe.
To those who baked cakes made sandwiches made tea and coffee and helped clear
it all up we could not have done it without any of you.
Last but not least those of you who stood for hours queueing and telling stories of
Daddy to everyone around you not complaining about the long wait. We were
overwhelmed by every one of you and appreciated your time and your kindness.
To P. Townley and Sons who made the worst time of our lives bearable and guided
us gently in the right direction when we were wondering aimlessly what to do and
how to proceed. They were professional and kindness itself.
Daddy /Grandad will be deeply and sadly missed and will always be remembered
with a smile from all of us who knew and loved him.
Daddys Months Mind Mass was celebrated last Saturday 14th of March.
It is impossible to thank everyone individually and please accept this
acknowledgement as an expression of our heartfelt appreciation.
The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
