The family of the late Peter Connolly who passed away on the 20th of April 2023 wish to acknowledge the many expressions of sympathy and gestures of kindness shown to us following our sad loss.
We would especially like to thank everyone who visited the funeral home, telephoned and posted online messages of condolences, gave gifts of food, Mass cards, charitable donations to Carrickmacross Cancer Society and attended the funeral. Thank you to all who travelled near and far. A special word of thanks to our wonderful relatives, friends and neighbours, we deeply appreciate your presence, thoughts and comforting words.
We offer our heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of Avenue GP, Carrickmacross, for the kindness and compassion they showed to Peter over the years and, in particular, the last few months with us at home. Peter's carer and friend, Úna, thank you for the wonderful care you gave him. Thank you to Diane McMahon for all your help. Our deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, for the amazing care you gave to Peter over the last weeks of his life.
Sincere thanks to Carrickmacross Emmets GFC for honouring Peter with a guard of honour at the football pitch entrance and at the entrance to St Joseph's Church. Thank you to the Vintner's Association who flanked Peter's coffin on his last journey to the church.
The family would like to thank Fr. Shane McCaughey for his compassion and support to the family and for the beautiful ceremony he delivered. To the harpist Eilís Lavelle and soloist Lorraine Cotter, thank you for the beautiful music and singing.
Many thanks to Catríona and Padraig at Lonergan's Funeral Directors - your guidance, kindness, support and professionalism was very much appreciated.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement of our deepest gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
Peter's Month's Mind Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, 27th May, 2023, at 11am in St Joseph's Church, Carrickmacross.
