As we lovingly remember Phil on his first anniversary, his mother Maura, aunt Mary, sister Deirdre, brothers John and Patrick and wider family wish to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to our relations, neighbours, friends and colleagues for the expressions of sympathy and support offered to us following his passing. Phil’s loss has left a void that can never be filled however the kindness of people is to be commended.
To all who called to our home, phoned, sent cards, photos and letters, left lovely messages of condolence, came to Phil’s wake, travelled long distances, attended the funeral service and offered heartfelt words of sympathy - thank you. We were greatly touched by the love and support we received.
To Wally and everyone in Costigan’s Funeral Directors, thank you for your professionalism and sensitivity all through getting Phil home from London, his wake, funeral and burial.
It meant so much to have Phil at home before the funeral and we would like to acknowledge the incredible support of our many good neighbours and friends; to everyone that looked after the traffic management especially Larry, Jimmy, Tom, PJ, Ger, Paddy, Billy, Michael, Dan and James, to everyone that helped with the hospitality with special thanks to Brid, Martha, Sarah, Gerardine, Catherine, Mary, Marie, Miriam, Sally, Maggie, Seamus, Helen and Joan and to everyone who brought food and refreshments to our home over those few days.
We would like to convey our gratitude to Fr Cullen and Fr Knight who facilitated Phil’s Service on Easter Saturday. A special thank you also to Gillian Fennessy who not only sang so beautifully but who provided help and guidance with selecting meaningful songs for the service.
Thanks also to David, Robert, Mary, Maurice and all the management and staff of Cahir House Hotel for looking after us following the service.
A special thank you to Phil’s large circle of friends, especially those who travelled from far and wide to be with us during this sad time and helping us to celebrate Phil’s life, his colleagues in Bank of America and fellow members of Hadley Wood Golf Club. We will be forever grateful for your friendship to Phil and for your ongoing support and friendship to us all.
A heartfelt thank you to our family, friends and neighbours, we greatly appreciate everything you have done and continue to do to support us through our grief.
To those who helped in any way, your contribution made our loss more bearable. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our deepest gratitude.
We think of things you used to say,
And all that you would do.
At some point, every single day,
Our thoughts will turn to you.
No matter how life changes,
No matter what we do,
A special place within our hearts
is always kept for you
