On the first anniversary of our deeply loved and so sadly missed P.J, we, the family, wish to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation of the many gestures of sympathy and support shown to our family while P.J was ill and following our sad loss of our loving husband, dad and brother P.J.
Thanks to our many relatives, loyal friends and wonderful neighbours, we will forever be thankful for the support you have provided to us during our time of need. Sincere gratitude to all who sent Mass cards, sympathy cards, personal letters with thoughtful messages, text messages and everyone who expressed their sympathy online through RIP.ie and who shared beautiful memories and paid such lovely tributes to P.J, they have been a source of great comfort and will always be remembered.
A special acknowledgement to the N.E.T’s and liver units, Palliative care and extended teams in St. Vincent’s Hospital & Uppsala University Hospital who brought comfort, dignity and care to P.J throughout his illness and especially during his final days.
Our very sincere thanks to everyone who attended the funeral home and his funeral Mass and burial. We were very touched by the many people who travelled long distances to be there. A special thanks to Rock’s Funeral Directors for their help and guidance during our difficult days. We would like to especially thank Fr Colin & Fr Christopher, for celebrating P.J’s life in the most beautiful funeral Mass and also John for his beautiful singing and music.
We are eternally grateful to P.J’s colleagues in An Garda Síochána for the support, compassion and dignity shown to P.J throughout his career and during his illness. They have continued to honour his memory this year with great respect and integrity and provided a wonderful layer of support to us which will never be forgotten. We wish to express our sincere thanks to the Garda Mounted Unit and Garda Roads Policing who helped with traffic management and provided a Garda Escort for P.J’s funeral.
We extend our appreciation to Swords Boxing Club & Fingallians GAA Club for their guards of honour, it was a beautiful tribute to P.J and the sports he loved so passionately.
P.J made many friends, young and old during his journey through life, each and every one of you gave him so much joy. Words cannot express our deep and sincere thanks to you all. It would be impossible to thank everyone individually, so please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our heartfelt appreciation. Dearly missed and forever in our hearts. P.J will always be remembered with a smile.
