Rita McLoughlin (née Gilhooly)

St. Patrick's Park,

Carrick-on-Shannon and Carrigallen, Co. Leitrim

Much loved and sadly missed every day by her son James, wife Caroline, daughter Catherine and husband Davy Davis, sister Bridie Cummins (Limerick) nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Rita passed away suddenly and peacefully on 17th September 2025.

We, her family, would like to express our deepest and most sincere thanks to everyone who reached out to us in our great loss.

We are truly touched by the outpouring of kindness, support, and sympathy shown by our many friends, neighbours, and well-wishers. To all who visited Rita for a final time in "26" , the viewing in the Heritage Centre, Chapel of Rest, her Funeral Mass and  Burial, and to those who called, sent flowers, messages, cards, shared kind words and happy memories online, or made charitable donations — your thoughtfulness brought great comfort to us during this very difficult time.

Special thanks to Fr. Mark for the special and meaningful mass. Ronnie Duignan, for the beautiful music, Chrissie O'Hora, for the beautiful floral arrangements, our neighbours and friends who  provided food, kindness, advice, and help.

To Padraig, Annetta, and Aisling Burke for looking after Rita on her final journey.

To everyone who helped us in any way — please know that your kindness will never be forgotten. It would be impossible to thank each of you personally, but we hope you will accept this message as a sincere expression of our love and gratitude during this difficult time. A donation has been made as a small gesture of thanks to the Alzheimers Society.

The Month's Memory Mass for Rita will take place on Saturday, 25th October at 10:00am in St Mary's Church,

Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim

we remember that a new dawn rises elsewhere.

Her light continues, even as we say goodbye"
