Seamus (Jimmy) McHugh

 Seamus (Jimmy) McHugh

Ballyshannon, Donegal / Tuam, Galway

The family of the late Seamus McHugh (Jimmy) of West Port, Ballyshannon, Co Donegal and formerly of Tuam, Co Galway, wish to acknowledge the many expressions of sympathy and gestures of kindness shown to us following our sad loss. We offer our heartfelt thanks to everybody who attended the funeral Mass in Ballyshannon, the 28th Infantry Battalion for their Military Bearer Party, those who were present for the burial in Tuam Cemetery, and those who sent cards and messages of condolences.

We would like to sincerely thank the many people who supported Seamus during his illness including the Bayview GP Family Practice (Ballyshannon), McGuire’s Chemist, the public health nurses, the carers Kieran and Sean, the occupational therapists, Noel who delivered oxygen, the ambulance and HSE personnel, Medical Ward South staff at Sligo General Hospital, Old Church Veterinary Clinic (Ballyshannon), Centra Supermarket staff, the great team at Shannon’s Corner Restaurant, taxi driver Joe, and all Seamus’ amazingly supportive neighbours and friends.

We would also like to thank Father Jeremiah, who celebrated the Requiem Mass and the Choir for their beautiful music. We would also like to thank Darren and Lorena of McGee Funeral Directors, Ballyshannon, for their professionalism and care in the handling of the funeral arrangements and Grogan Funeral Directors in Tuam for arranging the preparation of the grave. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgment as an expression of our deepest gratitude. Mass will be offered for all of your intentions.

Deeply loved, sadly missed and always remembered by your brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Seamus’ Month’s Mind Mass will be on Saturday, 8th March at 6pm at the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Tuam.
