As we lovingly remember Shane on his 70th birthday, Mary McGoff, his wife, and the O'Hanlon family would like to acknowledge the kindness and support of Shane's relatives and many friends, including those from AIB and the GAA at the time of his death just over a year ago.
We would like to thank VHI Eurocross Assistance who organised the repatriation of Shane's remains from Malaga. Thanks to the staff at Dublin Airport, some of whom were friends of Shane, for their care in handling his remains. A special word of thanks to McGuill Funeral Directors, Kildavin, Carlow for organising the reposing and funeral. We would like to thank all the people, some of whom travelled long distances, for being with us at Shane's reposing and his funeral Mass. Thanks also to the people who logged into the live stream of the funeral Mass and who sent letters of sympathy, Mass Cards and who posted messages on RIP. Thanks to Father Joe Delaney, Newport, Co. Tipperary, Father Joe Kennedy, Father Michael Cullen and Father Paul Dunne from Raheny Parish who con-celebrated the funeral Mass. We thank Father Joe Delaney for his lovely tribute to Shane at the Mass. We would like to thank Antoinette Heery and Eileen Dwyer who provided the music at the Mass. A special word of thanks to Kevin and Sean McManamon who sang 'Dublin in the rare oul times' at the recession. We would especially like to thank the Dublin County Board, the management and players of the Dublin Football team who provided a guard of honour and who acted as pall bearers both at the church and crematorium. We also thank the management and members of St. Vincent's GAA Club who also provided a guard of honour at the church. A special thank you the the members of An Gárda Síochana for providing an escort to the church and to the crematorium
As it would be impossible to thank everybody individually, we hope this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our gratitude and appreciation for the wonderful support we have received since Shane's untimely death.
