Sinéad O'SULLIVAN

 Sinéad O'SULLIVAN

Talbot's Grove, Freshford Road, Kilkenny City, Kilkenny / Nenagh, Tipperary

The family of the late Sinéad O’Sullivan of Talbot’s Grove, Freshford Road, Kilkenny and formerly Gortlandroe, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary would like to express their sincere gratitude for the generosity, kindness and sympathy shown to them during Sinéad’s illness and since her untimely death on 1st June 2019.

Sinéad dealt with her illness with great dignity and strength and was thankfully able to meet and stay in touch with family and friends up to the end. It was heart-warming to see so many people at her funeral, mass and burial, especially those who travelled long distances and to see so many old friends. During this very hard time, we are so appreciative of our wonderful, friends, neighbours, extended family and work colleagues who offered support during Sinéad’s illness, visited our homes, attended the wake, wrote letters, made contact and who continue to call to us and extend kind gestures of cooking, baking, lifts and countless other offers of help. Every kindness big or small makes a great difference. Sincere thanks for the mass cards, letters, prayers, telephone calls, food, flowers, and messages of sympathy. All of these have been a great consolation to us.

Thank you to Dr. Jennifer Westrup, and to all of the doctors and nurses at the Beacon Hospital who treated Sinéad and showed such compassion and kindness. To Dr. Frank Chambers and to the staff of Aut Even Hospital, Kilkenny for their help and compassion in ensuring that Sinéad’s last hours could be spent close to her beloved family and home in Kilkenny. To the staff at McEneaney’s pharmacy,  and other local pharmacists who ensured that Sinéad was as comfortable as possible during her illness. To the Carlow Kilkenny homecare team and the staff of Cois Nore Cancer Support for their care and assistance.

Thank you to Fr. Jim Murphy, Kilkenny and Fr. Seán McDonagh, Nenagh, for  a lovely and personal funeral mass and for their support, and to the sacristan and mass servers. To St. Canice’s choir, soloists and musicians, and the Loreto choir for the beautiful singing and music that enriched Sinéad’s funeral mass in such a special way. To the teachers and staff at Loreto and CBS schools, who provided great support to Clodagh, Daire and Seán. To Sinéad’s former colleagues in St. Mary’s Convent Secondary School Nenagh for their support, prayers and masses. To all our friends in our home town of Nenagh and beyond for their visits and kindness shown. To Sinéad’s friends and colleagues at Loreto, Kilkenny, for their kindness and support. To Eoin’s friends and colleagues at Glanbia, for their support and flexibility during this difficult time. To Dicksboro GAA club and its members, for the guards of honour and for the kindness and support shown. To Hehirs funeral directors, for handling everything in an efficient, dignified and sensitive manner. We thank you all.

Finally, to all of those who helped in any way, your contribution has made our loss more bearable. It would be impossible to thank all of you individually but as a token of our sincere gratitude and appreciation the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
