The family and the Sisters of Mercy, Western Branch, wish to express their sincere and heartfelt thanks to all who sympathised with them on the death of Sr. Teresa (Cecily) Delaney, Stella Maria, Galway and Gortnagine, Dunmore, Co. Galway.
Sincere thanks from her sisters Frances Hayes and Kathleen Nolan and their families, the family of her late brother Joe Delaney, the neighbours and friends of her late brother Padraig Delaney, and the family of her late sister Mary Magee, for their kindness, support and presence during this time of loss. The family also wish to thank her cousins, extended family, neighbours and friends.
Thank you to all who attended the reposing, Funeral Mass and burial, who sent Mass cards, letters, messages of sympathy, and who shared stories and memories of how Sr. Teresa touched and influenced their lives, including her many past pupils, which brought great comfort to the family and her community.
A special word of thanks to the Stella Maria Sisters who so kindly provided refreshments while Sr. Teresa reposed at the Stella Maria Community, and to the Sisters who sat with her and lovingly cared for her in her final days.
The family and community are deeply grateful to the staff of St. Enda’s Ward, University Hospital Galway, for their compassionate and dignified care, and to the Stella Maria Community and the wider Sisters of Mercy for their constant support, friendship and devotion throughout Sr. Teresa’s religious life.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgment as an expression of our deepest gratitude.
May Sr. Teresa’s gentle soul rest in peace.
