 Teresa McGuigan
(née O'Rourke)

Castleblayney, Monaghan

We, the family of the late Teresa McGuigan, would like to extend our heartfelt
gratitude to everyone who offered their sympathy and support during our recent
bereavement. Your kindness and thoughtfulness have been a great comfort to us at
this difficult time.
We are deeply appreciative of all who called, sent messages, cards, and flowers,
attended the wake and funeral, and those who travelled long distances to be with us.
To our neighbours, friends, and family who brought food and supported us in
countless ways, your generosity has truly touched our hearts.
A special thank you to Side Street Café, Cootehill, Eileen’s Tea Rooms, West Street
Café, and to Pete and Melissa in SuperValu and our next door neighbours for your
kindness.
A very special thank you to Sheena Mulhall, whose unique bond with Teresa brought
care filled with love, warmth, and many laughs. Sheena’s dedication was made
possible with the wonderful support of Vinny, Eibhlin, and the entire McHugh family –
we are truly grateful.
We would also like to recognise the help and relief that Lorraine brought to Teresa in
the final months and weeks – always being on hand to help/support her needs and
keeping her spirits up.
We would also like to acknowledge the Irish Cancer Society and their wonderful
nurses, in particular Dympna McGovern, whose guidance and professionalism
helped us through a very challenging journey. Our appreciation also go to the
Palliative Nursing Team-Denise, Niamh, and Veronica-as well as physio Catherine,
OT Michele, and carers Nicola, Cristina, Arlene, Sharon and others.
Thank you to Ciaran, Alice, Cait, and all the staff of Corner Chemist, and to Dr. Mary
Flanagan, Aine, Vicky, and everyone at Dr. Flanagan’s surgery. We are grateful to all
the staff at St. Vincent’s Private Hospital for their care and support throughout
Teresa’s illness.
Our sincere thanks to Castleblayney Faughs for the guard of honour, to Tom Miller and;
the Castleblayney guards, to Moyà Lynch and Castleblayney Cancer for their support
and for guiding Teresa’s coffin on her final journey - an organisation close to Teresa’s
heart. Thank you to Suzanne in Budz for the beautiful daffodils and to Bernie, Eamon
and Linda in the Social Welfare Office for supporting Louise and Seamus during the
last weeks and months.
We are especially grateful to Fr Stephen for his visits, his kindness, and for the
beautiful eulogy and celebration of mass. Thank you also to Laura McShane, the
singer, Marion, Joan, and the Eucharistic Ministers, as well as to Teresa’s cousin Fr.
Paddy and everyone who contributed to making the mass so special.
Our appreciation goes to Conor and the staff at Hughes Funeral Directors for their

support and professionalism, to Lakeland’s Crematorium, and to Micheal Smith and
Padraic and all the staff at Concra.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this
acknowledgment as a token of our sincere appreciation. Your support and kindness
will always be remembered.
Teresa’s Months Mind Mass will be held on Saturday, 31st May at 6pm in St. Mary’s
Church, Castleblayney.
With heartfelt thanks,
The McGuigan / O’Rourke Family
