 Thomas (Mossie) McELHINNEY

Blanchardstown, Dublin / Athboy, Meath

McELHINNEY, Mossie (Blanchardstown and formerly of Phibsboro and Athboy) January 27th 2017.

Mossie’s wife Maureen, sons Brendan, John and Mark and extended family deeply appreciate the kind expressions of sympathy shown to us on our recent sad loss. Thanks to all who attended the Funeral Mass in St. Brigid’s Church and burial in Mulhuddart Cemetery; to the many friends who travelled long distances to be with us, sent messages and letters of condolence, Mass cards and perpetual enrolments. A special thanks for the generous donations made to the Irish Cancer Society in Mossie’s honour. Our sincere gratitude to all involved in celebrating his Funeral Mass: Fr. Casey (St. Brigid’s) and Fr. Brassil (Dalgan Park); Timmy Regan, soloist; Orla, Paul, Ben and Ciara (Grandchildren) for their participation; Chris Farrell, Captain of Royal Tara Golf Club, for his eulogy on behalf of our family and Dan Lynch, sacristan. We are also grateful to the members of Royal Tara Golf Club for providing a guard of honour.

Our heartfelt thanks to the nurses, doctors and staff of The Mater Private Hospital, especially those in the Oncology Day Ward and St. Elizabeth’s Ward, for the outstanding care and attention they afforded Mossie during his illness. Also, to our wonderful neighbours who were always so supportive. We wish to thank his many friends for their support during his illness, especially those in Royal Tara Golf Club, County Louth Golf Club, his hurling friends from O’Toole’s GAA Club and Athboy, and his former work colleagues.

Our sincere gratitude to Cunninghams Funeral Directors for their kindness, support and professionalism. Also, to the catering staff at Westmanstown Golf Club for the lovely meal provided.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our sincere appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for your intentions.

Mossie’s Month Mind Mass will be celebrated on Sunday, 19th March, at 9am in St. Brigid’s Church, Blanchardstown.
