 Thomas Patrick (Tommy) Kavanagh

Arklow, Wicklow

Tommy’s wife Ann, children Genevieve, Michael & Therese & all our family wish to extend our sincere thanks for the many expressions of kindness, sympathy & support we received at the time of Tommy’s sad passing & during the weeks since.

Thank you to everyone who visited the funeral home, attended Tommy’s removal, funeral Mass & burial, sent Mass cards, letters & texts, those who shared happy memories & warm messages online, those who travelled long distances to offer comfort & support & those who couldn’t be present but joined us in the celebration of Tommy’s funeral Mass via webcam. Thanks also to those who donated generously to the Kidney Unit at St. Vincent’s Foundation in Tommy’s memory; https://www.stvincentsfoundation.ie/

Our most sincere thanks to Dr Nick Buggle, Dr Siobhan McCabe & all the team at Sheltonville Surgery, to the doctors, nurses & caring staff of St. Vincent’s Hospital & to the carers who assisted us in looking after Tommy in the home he loved. Heartfelt thanks to Fr. Dermot Byrne for his friendship, prayers & lovely funeral Mass & to our friends from the Templerainey Church Choir & our accompanist Bridget Kenny for such beautiful music.

To Tommy’s cherished grandchildren who read readings & prayers, delivered such a beautiful eulogy, performed musical tributes & carried him along his final journey, we thank you – he would have been so proud.

To colleagues, neighbours & friends, your generosity & compassion means so much & will never be forgotten. Thanks also to the management & staff of The Arklow Bay Hotel for their hospitality, to Joe & Tom from R.S.S. for tending to the grave & to all at John Sweeney & Sons Funeral Directors.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our sincere appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for the intentions of all.

Tommy’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated on Saturday 4th May at 7pm in St. Joseph’s Church, Templerainey. Those who cannot attend are welcome to join via webcam;
