 Tom Gavin

Peafield Road, Newtown, Castletroy, Limerick / Four Roads, Roscommon

As we remember Tom, on the first anniversary of his death, we his wife Eithne, his children Muiris, Bríd, Aisling Ciara and Tomás together with his sister Eileen, brother Tim and his extended family wish to extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every person who provided comfort and support to us in our great loss.

Thank you to the many friends, neighbours and colleagues who visited our home during Tom's reposal. We greatly appreciate all the letters, telephone calls, mass cards and messages of condolence. To Tom's former colleagues and many friends in  An Garda Síochána both retired and serving members for your presence, guard of honour and traffic management, thank you.

The support given, the tributes paid and the guard of honour provided by members of Monaleen G.A.A club and Castletroy Golf Club will never be forgotten.

Thank you to Dr Ronan Ryder, Professor Ruth Clifford and her team and all the wonderful caring nurses and doctors in Oncology in U.H.L. A special word of thanks to the Palliative Care team from Milford Hospice who supported Tom and the family during his final days at home.

Thank you to Ollie, Andy, Rose and all the staff in Halleys Care Plus pharmacy for your kindness and support. We are indebted to Monaleen Cancer Support group who provided food and refreshments to the hundreds of people who visited our home. Thank you so much. It was an exceptional display of support.

Sincere thanks to Eithne's brother Fr. Seán, Canon Ger Garrett, Mons. Dan Neenan and Fr. Tom Ryan for concelebrating Tom's funeral mass. It was a lovely celebration of Tom's life. The music and singing provided by Eithne's niece Muirne, her daughter Aoibhinn and their friend Frank Downey made the funeral mass such a special ceremony.

Our appreciation and thanks to Thompson Undertakers for their professional and sensitive handling of arrangements. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our deep gratitude. To all our family and friends, thank you for being there for each and every one of us as we continue our journey.

The Holy Sacrifice of the mass will be offered for your intentions.

Tom's anniversary mass will be celebrated on Sunday April 23rd at 10am in the Church of St. Mary Magdalene. Monaleen.
