The family of the late Tom Gallagher of Mulgannon, Wexford Town and formerly Leixlip, Kildare would like to thank most sincerely all those who sympathised with them since Tom’s death a year ago.
We offer our heartfelt thanks to our many friends, neighbours, relatives and well-wishers who supported us at this difficult time. We are very grateful for all the cards, messages and online condolences as well as the innumerable practical supports and kindnesses shown to us since.
We were very touched by the guard of honour formed on Wexford Bridge as we travelled towards Crosstown Cemetery and would like to thank Tom’s colleagues from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage; the members of Wexford Celtic Football Club and the community of Gaelscoil Charman in particular.
Ba mhór linn ár mbuíochas a ghabháil le pobal, foireann and daltaí Gaelscoil Charman as an tacaíocht ar fad atá faighte ag Hugo, Martha, Conall agus Áine. Is mór an onóir dúinn go bhfuil Tearmann Thomáis suite anois i gcroílár na scoile.
A special word of thanks to an tAthair Mícheál Ó Sé for the beautiful ceremony and musicians Trish Goggins and Gerald Griffin, and to piper Peter Browne for playing at the graveside.
Our gratitude for the expert care Tom received for many years under Prof. Dermot O’Toole and the NET team in St. Vincent’s Hospital, Dublin. Our thanks also to Dr. David Curtis and all at Sunnyside Medical Centre, Wexford and to the staff of Wexford General Hospital and the Ambulance Service.
As we were not able to celebrate Tom’s life together due to restrictions at the time we hope to organise a gathering of friends and family around the time of his birthday next April.
Ceol na nAingeal go gcloise sé.
