TREVOR O'MEARA

Connaught Street Athlone and
 Le Chéile, Gurteen, Ballymahon.
Died October 27th, 2021.

On this, first Anniversary of the untimely passing of our beloved Trevor, son of Joe and Tricia, husband to Erica and father to Kira, Jack and Kalvin, The O'Meara, McGowan and Chadwick families would like to acknowledge the many gestures of sympathy and support shown to our family while Trevor was ill and following our sad loss.

Thanks to those who called to our houses, attended his funeral, sent cards, flowers, messages of sympathy, online condolences and made phone calls.

Special thanks to our friends and neighbours who provided food and assisted with catering over these days. Looking back you helped us more than you know.  Heartfelt thanks to our precious friends in Rare Ireland Family Support Network for their tremendous support financially and practically. We appreciate those who sent donations, hampers, contributed to a meal train, set up a cleaning schedule and even cared for our pets. Your kindness will never be forgotten.

Things that seemed small were actually big deals and tremendously helpful. We were very touched by our friends who travelled the length and breadth of Ireland to visit Trevor and attend his Funeral Mass and indeed the large number of people who lined the local roads on Trevor’s journey from our home, church and onto his final resting place.

Special thanks to Fr Liam for his prayers for Trevor in our house and his beautiful funeral Mass and  Fr John for his continued support to our family and words of wisdom when it was needed most. Thanks to Ss Peter and Paul's Folk Group, for their wonderful music and singing.

To Jenny’s flowers in Ballymahon and Dooleys florists in Athlone and their team, we thank you for your time and attention in providing magnificent flowers for Trevor. A sincere thanks to Arlene McNeil’s Funeral Director for her professionalism and guidance during our difficult days. Heartfelt thanks to our special friends who prepared Trevor resting place in Clonown so beautifully.

We extend our appreciation to Professor Grogan, his entire team and his colleagues in Beaumont Hospital who always provided excellent care and wonderful friendship to Trevor.

A special thanks to Dr McCormick, Dr Harney and all the staff in Clonbrusk for their support and friendship. In particular we received tremendous help from the ladies in the palliative care team who couldn’t have done any more for our family. The Mercy Convent staff, in particular Josephine O’Donoghue and Siobhan O’Neill and all the staff in St Mathews National School, especially Herbert Farrell and Bryan Kennedy. Our children needed next level support and understanding. Thank you for being their safe place.

Trevor made many friends in his journey through life. Each and every one of them gave him so much joy and we’re eternally grateful for this. To Trevor’s work colleagues in Retreat, Stella Maris and  Sonas nursing homes, St Hilda’s, Athlone Hospital and the lads and ladies at the top of the queue in the taxi ranks in Athlone; he shared your passion and vocation caring for people and formed so many wonderful friends and acquaintances  whether it be on a journey to an appointment or on the phone.

Words cannot express our deep and sincere thanks to you all. It would be impossible to thank everyone individually so please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our heartfelt appreciation. A Mass will be offered for your intentions.

A miracle we prayed for,
That miracle never came.
Then we realised,
our miracle was with us all along.

TREVOR WAS OUR MIRACLE.

Trevor’s Anniversary Mass Saturday, 29th October 2022, at 6.30pm in Ss Peter & Paul's Church, Athlone.
