Fr. Michael O’Donovan

Caheragh & Dromore

Acknowledgement & First Anniversary

Died Holy Saturday 11th April 2020

As we fondly remember Father Michael O’Donovan this Easter and on his first anniversary. We, his family would like to thank all who sympathised and supported us on our sad loss. Thanks to all who sent messages of sympathy.

Due to Covid restrictions many clergy, relatives and friends were unable to attend in person, we were acutely aware you were with us in spirit, we’ll never forget the number of people who lined the funeral route. The singing outside Dromore church was particularly poignant.

We would like to sincerely thank all who assisted with the funeral mass & burial and contributed to making it so meaningful and comforting, including the sacristan, flower arrangers, singers, bell ringers, guard of honour, grave diggers and those who made recordings.

Our thanks to Mons. Aidan O’Driscoll, Fr. John Heinhold and funeral directors Charles and Brenda O’Sullivan and staff for their kindness, help and professionalism and who operated under difficult circumstances within the Covid restrictions.

Thanks to all the very caring staff, management and fellow residents of Bushmount Nursing Home and to all at the Medical Centre, Rosscarbery who cared for Fr. Michael. We are deeply grateful to all who continued to visit him faithfully, those who stopped to chat with him in Bushmount, when he attended Mass in Clonakilty Parish Church or his walking trips around the town.

As we would like to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our sincere appreciation to you all.

And there coming to meet him, was Jesus “Greetings” he said (Mt 28:9)
