As we remember Dad on the First Anniversary of his passing, we the Grimes family, would like to offer our heartfelt gratitude and sincere thanks to everyone who sympathised with us on the sad loss of a much-loved Dad and Grandad.
We thank all who called to our home, attended the rosary, the funeral Mass and burial. To those who sent Mass Cards, letters of sympathy, floral tributes and posted messages of condolences on RIP.ie.
Special thanks to Dr. Pauline DeFeu, Public Health Nurses Sarah, Noreen and Catriona, Dad’s carers Geraldine and Paul, for the professional, devoted and exceptional care and attention given to Dad over many years. It was much appreciated and we will be forever grateful to you all. Special thanks also to Kieran, Bernie and all the staff at Madden’s Pharmacy for the kindness and help over many years. Special thanks to Mr. Madhavan, medical and nursing staff on Sir Patrick Duns Ward, at St. James Hospital for the exceptional and devoted care given to Dad over many years, and in particular for the compassionate and caring manner he was treated in his final days. A special mention to CNM Bernie Hanna who was so kind to Dad over the many years he was in St. James’ Hospital as an in-patient or at the out-patient department. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
We will be forever grateful to Paddy and Donal Tierney Funeral Directors for their kindness, compassion and professionalism. To Paddy for your kindness and the stories you shared of Dad in his youth with his grandchildren, they meant so much to them and memories they will treasure forever.
Thanks also to Fr. Michael Harding, Fr. Pat Treacy, and Fr. Martin Delaney for the beautiful way they conducted Dad’s Funeral Mass and made it so special and meaningful to us his family. A very big thank you to Martin Delaney for his music and singing that enriched Dad’s Funeral Mass.
Finally, to our wonderful friends, a special mention to Joan’s work colleagues, neighbours at Kennedy Park, Scart and Errill, and extended family that have been such a support and help to us throughout Dad’s illness, over the funeral and since. We will be forever indebted to you all. Your kindness, thoughtfulness and generosity will never be forgotten.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this Acknowledgement as an expression of our gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
In Heaven you rest,
No worries no pain
God Bless you Dad
Until we meet again.
