ARC Cancer Support Centres

ARC was founded in 1994 to provide psychological, emotional, educational, and practical support in a to people affected by cancer and those who care for them.

We have three centres across Dublin strategically located near the designated national centres for excellence in cancer care – the Mater Hospital and Beaumont Hospital in north Dublin, St James's Hospital in the city centre, and St Vincent's Hospital and Crumlin Children’s Hospital in south Dublin. 

 

Our centres and services are available to anyone affected by cancer – children and adults, families and friends – where they can access care and support in a safe, warm and welcoming place. 

 

Our support services are completely free and are provided both in person and online, and include: 

  • Survivorship programmes 
  • Psychotherapy 
  •  Complementary and pain-relief therapies, including acupuncture, manual lymphatic drainage, reflexology, mindfulness, yoga, Pilates 
  • Play therapy for children experiencing cancer, and their siblings 
  • Multiple diverse support groups 
  • Wellbeing classes 
  • Educational talks and workshops 
  • Drop-in care and support 
 

ARC's services are provided by professional staff, qualified and accredited therapists, and trained volunteers.

ARC's drop-in centres are open Monday-Thursday 10am-4pm and Friday from 10am-2pm, with late opening Tuesdays to 8pm in Eccles Street and Wednesdays to 8pm in South Circular Road.

ARC offers a safe and confidential space for people to talk to a trained volunteer and to avail of counselling from qualified psychotherapists.

ARC's range of group therapies includes mindfulness, relaxation and visualisation, stress management and yoga classes.

ARC provides a number of talks on topics including ‘Talking to Children about Cancer’, ‘Positive Appearance’, ‘Cancer and Fatigue’, ‘Cancer and Nutrition’, ‘Bereavement’, and ‘Benefits and Entitlements’, to name but a few.

While ARC receives some grants, it relies on the continued generosity of the public for the majority of its funding. ARC also relies on outstanding volunteers who are the backbone of the organisation to provide many of its services, such as managing its drop-in centres, providing pro-bono therapies and organising events.

Wedding favours are a wonderful way of celebrating life, health and happiness, or of remembering someone who has passed on. Why not consider donating to ARC Cancer Support Centres?  Your wedding guests will undoubtedly be very moved by the gesture.  We will provide you with personalised, stylishly-designed cards to highlight your support for ARC.  Donations for tent cards range from €150 for 100 cards, to €200 for 150 cards, to €250 for 200 cards, however, we can tailor a package to suit any level of donation.
