Galway Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GSPCA)

Galway SPCA, Heathlawn, Killimor, Co. Galway, H53 VY32

The Galway Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GSPCA) have been an active force in animal welfare since 1999 taking care of sick, injured and cruelly treated animals in Galway.

Our main base is our sanctuary, between Killimor and Portumna, where we care for dogs in our Dog Sanctuary. Our Cattery and small animal unit is based in Briarhill alongside a large retail outlet. We also currently have two other Charity shops; one on Main Street, Ballinasloe and the other on Barrack Street, Athenry.

Our fundamental aim is to reach as many animals that find themselves in need, through neglect, abandonment, abuse or simply at risk due to a change of circumstances, as our resources allow. We strive to encourage responsible ownership, to inspire a compassionate and caring society that recognises all animals as sentient beings and to give them the respect they deserve.

We are self-funded, relying on donations both monetary and supplies. Fundraising activities and adoption fees help prepare our animals for homing. Without your support, we simply could not exist.
