South East Palliative Care Centre Beech Ward, Dunmore Wing, University Hospital Waterford
Waterford Hospice CLG was established in 1988 to provide a Hospice Homecare Palliative Care service in County Waterford and South Kilkenny.As the service evolved it became evident that the area did not have an In- patient Hospice facility analogous with other regions of the country.
Accordingly, WHM in addition to the Homecare Service fundraised €6m towards the building costs of the new South East Palliative Care Centre (SEPCC).
WHM’s remit is to provide Public Benefit to patients and their families of the South East Palliative Care Service in their own homes in our Community Care Area, and to patients and families of the SEPCC via provision of patient comforts, equipment, amenities, complementary therapies, counselling and support services. WHM compliments the clinical services provided by the HSE.
