Wicklow Hospice provides 15 in-patient beds and a base for the Wicklow Specialist Community Palliative Care Team. Part of Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services, it opened in November 2020, following over ten years campaigning and fundraising by the community to build a hospice to meet the county’s needs.Wicklow Hospice provides specialist palliative care; their focus is to improve the quality of life for those with a life-limiting illness. They help patients to live with comfort, dignity and peace of mind, taking a holistic approach to meet the needs of patients and their families. Palliative care involves treating symptoms and providing psychological, social and spiritual support.
Wicklow Hospice sees over 200 admissions each year with almost 350 patients seen by the community homecare team, and over 3,000 homecare visits carried out.
