Peacefully at the Galway Clinic, surrounded by the love of her heartbroken family and friends.

Pre-deceased by her beloved husband and best friend John in 2010.

It is with broken hearts and many tears that the Kilroy and Kelly families announce the sad passing of Ascinta who, after overcoming a long battle, succumbed to a short illness which she fought with courage, dignity and grace.

Cherished and much-loved, she will be sadly missed by her loving children John, Gillian and Robert, by her daughters-in-law Jennifer and Sarah, son-in-law Barry O’ Connor and by her adored grandchildren – Kate, Olivia, Eliana, Maisy, Oona-May, Izzy, Zoe, Billy and Ted.

Fondly remembered with love by her sisters Olivia Kilroy and Paula-Ann Murnane, brothers-in law Joe and James, nephews, nieces, extended family, close neighbours and by her many loyal and devoted friends.

Ascinta will lie in repose at her residence Cloonasee, Kinvara (H91KT3F) on Wednesday July 31st from 4pm until 7pm. Private removal on Thursday morning August 1st with the Funeral cortege arriving to St. Colman’s Church, Kinvara for Requiem Mass at 11am. Ascinta will be laid to rest afterwards in St. Colman’s cemetery Gort, alongside her beloved John.

No flowers necessary – the family would appreciate donations towards breast cancer research (National Breast Cancer Research Institute Ireland – NBCRI).

The family deeply appreciate your kindness, loyalty, love and support at this time. We wish to thank all our wonderful neighbours and friends for all they have done to help us in these difficult days. Sincere thanks to all who cared for Ascinta during her illness, particularly the staff of Our Lady of Knock Ward, Galway Clinic.

“Finally to Ascinta, you were a unique woman, re-united now with your loving John, may your beautiful spirit endure and your soul rest in peace”
