Alan was like a father to me and a grandfather to Sienna. He has been with me was the first person I saw when Sienna was born and was with a rock through the loss of our baby boy Freddy. I feel an emptiness since his passing like a limb is missing. Alan you will forever be missed RIP

I don’t think I can put into words what our friendship meant to me.

Your kindness, empathy, and patience — and of course your sense of humour (even when it was a little dry and the advice was too honest) — will stay with me always.

It feels like a lifetime ago now, actually it was :) but to think that a lecturer’s recommendation, when I was struggling with mathematics and statistics and needed a tutor, would lead to a chain of events that brought you into my life… and not only into mine, but into my family’s too.

You became one of the most influential people in my life — we drank some amount of tea :) :) :) the chats we had for hours and hours ... closest thing to family. You were loved deeply by me, and by my brother, his wife, and their daughters, whom you became godfather to. Life truly is a wild ride.

As I write this, I’m in tears. I hope you have the best bed in Heaven, and that you continue to watch over beautiful Nora. xxx
