I was very fortunate to have shared the Scouting Trail with Alan for many years. Alan was the epitome of a Scout, a leader by example and I will always be grateful for his friendship, for his wisdom, for his generosity and so much more, but especially for his service as Chief Teller at many meetings of National Council, throughout the years. May Alan, now reunited with his Mother, Dorothy and his Nephew, Andrew, upon that farther shore, be and remain at peace.
