Deepest sympathy to the Pim family on the loss of a true gentleman .
We had the good fortune to meet him through the time he shared his home with our daughter Fiona .They had a timely and wonderful bond and she held him in high esteem .On meeting him ,it was easy to see why .
She frequently returned to us at home ,telling us how to do things correctly in the garden and in the kitchen .Alan had taught her superior practices and she deeply respected him and their connection .
We will always be filled with gratitude that he was a part of her ..and consequently our lives for such an important phase of her life.
The wonderful care and love he received ,and indeed gave ,in his close family circle was something that left an imprint.
May he Rest in Peace after a full life well lived

Rest in peace Alan. Deepest sympathy to all the family especially Jeni, Robert and Jordan. From all at Dunhill Multi-Education Centre.
There is nothing but good things to say and remember about Alan Pim. He was fair, compassionate, fun, full of life, enthusiasm, smiles and love... a wonderful person, a great example of a Quaker. Pimmy was a fabulous teacher who so many of us had the priviledge of being taught by. My thoughts go out to his family and many close friends who will miss his company right here beside them - but may find in fact he is not so far away. A lovely man who will be missed indeed. God Bless
Deepest sympathy to Andrew and the Pim family on the passing of Alan.
Sincere Sympathy to Andrew and the extended Pim Family on the death of your dad Alan. May he Rest in Peace.
I send light and compassion to Tia and all of Pimmy's family. His impact on my adolescence was profound. To this day, moss is my favorite plant family thanks to his biology lessons, and I nod to him every time I find moss on my path. My love of kayaking, to this day, started with his providing us an environment to build our own and to wrestle with our vulnerabilities to pass the river test in his swimming pool. His care of Newtown pupils was second to none and informs my work with children and adolescents today. As a watchful adolescent, I saw Pimmy live out the Quaker values. Deepest gratitude, Pimmy. Your work and life live on in your pupils.
So sorry to hear of the passing of Alan, sincere sympathy to all the family who we know so well throughout the years, shared lots of storie and many memories. A true gentleman, may he rest in peace.
My celebration is of fun, sport, the great outdoors, best efforts, dissecting Bulls eyes (and swallowing them). Greatness in guidance, fearless in confidence, winning if you can, but always doing your best, which was always personal win. Teams, teamwork, helping, being helped. That brimming smile, Robert Redford looks - always popular with the Mums. What a pleasure to have been under your care for six years and so easy to remember you after 45 years. A lasting like who shown bright in our world of Newtown. Thanks Pimmy. $pu! 🎈
Thank you for everything and rest in peace

Sincere sympathy to the Pim family on the passing of Alan.
I was sorry to hear the sad news of the passing of ‘Pimmy’. I have many memories of him during my time at Newtown School (1970 - 1976). He was an inspiring and enthusiastic teacher. Among many other experiences, he took our class on the school field to teach us how to identify different types of trees, he organised for us to go to his house to look at his bee hives and he allowed a friend and I to sleep in the biology lab overnight, on the gym ‘crash’ mats, so we could watch the chickens hatching in the incubator. Being a sporty pupil he was also influential in encouraging me to reach my potential on the swimming team and also doing life saving and personal survival badges. For competitions we would go in Pimmy’s Peugeot which seemed to fit everyone in. If it was to Cork on the way back we would stop at Dungarvan chip shop. He also encouraged me in middle distance running organising on sports day for me in Y5 to run with the Y3 boys 800m final to help me beat the school record.
On reflection as an adult he was aware of the ups and downs of teenage years and gave tremendous support to those who found it more difficult.
A very amazing and kind man who I know was a big influence on me becoming a P.E. teacher.
Thanks for everything, Pimmy.
