Deepest sympathy to the Adcock family on the death of Alec. I have fond memories of many interesting talks with Alec during his time on Security in Bailieborough, then he was gone and we never met again. May he rest in peace.

As one of many whom initially got to ‘know’ Alec via the Football Forum that he set up with Matt, I will forever have my memories of a truly genuine and generous friend.

Alec knew me as Lois on the forum he created. The lovely warmth and kindness that this remarkable man had in abundance always shone through. My sincerest condolences to Joan, Matt and the family at this difficult time.

Adders (as I knew him) knew me, a fellow Manchester City fan, as Tonybookoverlapping. I am one of many, whose lives have been immeasurably enriched, by the online forum he set up, for fans of both Manchester clubs. He managed that (sometimes fractious) forum, with dignity, with grace, with strength (whenever needed!) and with huge humanity. I never met him, in person. I envy those of you who did. RIP
