I was so sorry to hear of Alec’s passing in France. He was a dear friend to my late mother Marie and can imagine them dealing and trading gossip from the antiques world in heaven. They enjoyed the best of times - afternoon tea at Brown's in London in a whirlwind of extravagance enjoying the high life. Luckily I got to share in their fun and games from time to time . She loved him to bits and they were such kindred spirits because Alec also loved books and food. Mummy missed Alec greatly when he moved to Australia but she had great affection for Kevin. Deepest condolences to Vivienne Virette, Billy and all the family on their sad loss,.

Very saddened to hear of the passing of my classmate at school and athletic relay colleague. We last met at the class reunion in 2018. Alex was always a gentleman. Our sincere condolences to Billy, Verette & Vivienne and all the extended family. Alex’s suffering has ended and he now RIP.

Billy and you all .. I remember Alec at school as a truly lovely young fella with a great nature about him .. that was a half century plus ago .. quite by accident I stumbled upon him on social media some years ago and there he was fooling around with fine arts and things outside my knowledge somewhere in the south of France .. we had some humorous exchanges thereafter .. I am saddened to learn of his demise and sense with some assurance that he will rest gently wherever .. my deepest sympathy ..

I(CARLO) first met Alec back in the early 70s when I started my career as an auctioneer and valuer with the late Lionel Sexton.Alec attended the many antique and fine art auctions held by Sextons in the city and county during those years.Alec was a lovely person with a great sense of humour and I always enjoyed his company. Alec was one of life's good guys, MAY HE REST IN PEACE.
