Sheila Doreen Briege and the family I am shocked to read today of Anna’s Death earlier last year please accept my belated sympathies on your loss of Anna.

Our sympathies to Doreen, Sheila, Seamus, John, grandchildren, great grandchildren, to Anna’s sister Briege and all Anna’s friends.
It is with great sadness that we realise we will not be able to enjoy Anna’s engaging company again. Her wit, intelligence and wisdom made our the meetings with her very special.
She embraced the Irish language and made it her own.
Anna exuded warmth and generosity to us all, it was a pleasure knowing her, a really lovely lady.
May she rest in peace.

Áine’s Irish was, in fact, so fluent and natural it was a surprise to learn that, like the President herself, Áine learned the language as an adult.

I have great memories of my visits to Kilconner and Anna being down on a visit from Dublin with Sheila and Doreen She always had a ready and big smile. She was one of life’s ladies. Comhbhrón don chlann agus cháirde Anna. She was an amazing lady. I grew up down the road, and when I'd bump in to her in the street when home visiting, she'd ask after my entire family by name.

Deepest sympathies on the passing of Anna to all who knew her, she certainly left an impression on me and my Mom as a very kind, caring and genuine neighbour, one who's encounters were always memorable and uplifting. Anna had the loveliest nature, elegant and engaging. Blessed to have known her, we were very touched by Shiela's eulogy, may she rest in peace and may all her family find comfort at this difficult time.

I was very sorry to hear of Anna Smith’s passing this week. A great friend and neighbour to the all the Whelehan family on Barton Road West, especially Marie. My abiding memory of her is that she was a warm, kind, softly spoken person, always elegantly dressed and exuding a subtle old world classiness. Kim, my wife, was lucky to have met her too when she came to Mum and Dad’s around our wedding celebrations, and we were all very fond of her. A lovely woman to have known.

Dear Doreen and Shelia ,I was very sorry to hear of Anna passing .
I worked for many years for Anna , in smiths pharmacy and have many happy memories from that time .
We kept in contact and i will miss her Christmas cards full of news of her grandchildren etc.
She was a lovely lady with a generous good nature.

I have fond memories of Anna along with Matt (my dad's first cousin and my godfather), Doreen and Sheila visiting our house in Cavan many times over the years - and then there was the boat.....
