All the words I could write cannot describe the pain you are going through right now. That's why there is no word in any language to describe a person who has lost their child. We become widows or widowers when we lose a spouse or orphans when we lose our parents, but there is no word to describe what you are currently going through. So I'm not going to try to write platitudes.
I just want to say to Dan (as I don't know you, Carrie) that any time you want to talk about baby Claire, I will be here for you.

We cannot express how saddened and sorry we are for your loss. Sweet baby Claire will forever and always be in our hearts and minds. Our love grew daily with every glance at her photos. Their competence and tenacity are exceeded only by their compassion, patience, and consideration. Our family is also so grateful for the support shown by family, friends, and new friends sending condolences. Our angel grand-daughter is now a deeply cherished part of us, to be celebrated both in quiet moments, and whenever family gathers.
