Sorry to hear of Barrie's death. A most obliging man in his time in Carrisbrook House where I worked in IDA and a good neighbour in Sandymount Court. I lived in number 8 but left there 23 years ago. Bumped into Barrie a few years ago outside the Doctor's on Serpentine Avenue. We had a great chat about former friends and foes. May he rest in peace.

Barrie was one of the first volunteers I worked with in Oxfam.
Unfortunately I lost touch with him after he had to stop volunteering.
He was a real people person always chatting with customers building a rapport with them, I used to say he was the best salesman Oxfam ever had.
He also had a great appreciation for music, surprisingly even some of the heavy metal music I would listen to, but he also broadened my own tastes, introducing me to Opera and classical regularly explaining the meaning and the arrangement of the pieces to me.
