May he rest in peace with his predeceased loved ones, especially his beloved wife and dear son Bernard. We have fond memories of him in the shop at Deelis bridge and of Marie speaking so fondly of him.

Unfortunately I only got to meet Batt only the one time, but in the brief time we met he conveyed all of the tremendous qualities that his generation had in abundance.
It was lovely to see you all gathered around him on Wednesday to give him his final send off.

I have such fond memories of holidays in Deelis and the excitement of being allowed walk to the shop knowing something nice would be part of the walk back up the road because your dad would bring us behind the counter to allow us to choose whatever we liked and we are all certain we never paid a penny in return!!! RIP Batt. xx
