I always remember the first time I met Bernie, she threw her arms around me and welcomed me to Grove Street many years ago. She was such a warm hearted, kind and truly lovely person. So very sad to hear of her passing. With deepest condolences to Breda and the Conneely Family, Des and the girls. Rest in peace Bernie. Such a beautiful soul.

Bernie came into the bookshop where I work about a year ago, the day before she was to go into hospital. She was looking for colouring books to help pass the time. We had a lovely conversation and although I didn't know her I realised she was a very special person.
She came back into the shop on her way home from hospital 10 days later to buy gifts for her lovely girls and I was so glad to see her.
I have often thought about her since and am so very very sad to hear this sad news.
May this lovely lady rest in peace.
