I'm so sorry to hear of Bernie's recent death. I'm one of the American cousins , and although I only managed a few visits to Ireland, I was overwhelmed by the warm welcomes from all. When my sister and I were in Galway, Bernie was lovely - she took us to the original family farm, and on a visit to Lily. Aside from one instance when I turned into the wrong lane on a highway (thankfully there were no other cars around), she was even complimentary about my driving, and told us wonderful family stories. Later, Bernie and Willie took us to a ceilidh in Galway - I can still hear some of the music in my head, and appreciate all the time she spent showing us around. She - and all the other cousins - made my visits very special. My thoughts and prayers go out to all her family and friends.

We were so deeply saddened to learn of the sudden passing of Bernie. She was a lovely, kind and warm person. When we were in Ireland, she arranged for a trip for my sister and I to visit Lily and the former McLoughlin farm. She, and all of our cousins, made us feel incredibly welcome. Our deepest sympathy to Willie, their children and grandchildren and to her siblings Kathleen, Oliver, Sr. Marie, Kevin, Phyliss and Frankie.
