Sending our heartfelt condolences to Betty’s entire family from Philip and Nesrene O’Connell in Australia. We were very sad to hear the news of Aunty Betty’s passing. We loved Aunty Betty’s zest for life, beautiful beaming smile and infectious laugh.

Phil always fondly remembers family holidays in Cork where Betty made a roast dinner followed by amazing baking every day which he looked forward to.

Aunty Betty travelled to visit us on many occasions with her sister Kay (Phil’s Mum).

They visited Phil in Nairobi, Kenya where Betty was adamant that they would need to find a Catholic Church for Sunday Mass.

The Australia trip is one we will never forget. Betty entertained Nes’s family with her witty statements and stories and they all loved spending time with her.

Her love for a cup of tea with a cake was a repeat event throughout the day, which always ended with ‘shall we have some chocolates?’ Nes loved taking her shopping where Betty would spend endless hours trying on outfits and always looked elegant and fabulous!

We will miss her but grateful we have fond memories. May she rest in peace.
My deepest sympathy to Bettys family. As. A novice bridge player I was partnered with the master player and I learned life changing tactics from her! She was soft voiced and direct and since that fateful night in Highfield each time she would meet me she would ask “have you gone many 5 no trumps since”?!!!May her beautiful soul rest in peace🙏
Betty was a warm, kind and lovely person. She will be sadly missed. To Frank, Harry, Paul, Finbarr, Joe and your families - our thoughts are with you. May she Rest In Peace.
