I just would like you to know I watched his celebration of life Mass via live stream and it was beautiful. And I got to see cousins I never knew I had... thank you for that opportunity.

To the Family, my deepest sympathy... I met Brendan as well as my great aunt Kathleen and Mary in 2000 at the Maher reunion .. Annette I had a relationship with as she came to the USA for my wedding in 1970 and we both nurses. I spoke with Brendan via phone in March and he sounded so chipper and energetic and with a wealth of family history. I'm so sorry we never got to know each other. THe condolences speak worlds about his personality and what a gentle, kind, caring man he was. With him goes a generation of my grandmothers, Nora Maher Greeley, family. Again, I am so sorry for your loss and know he is with his heavenly family and looking down upon us. RIP Brendan

My condolences to the Donnellan family on the passing of Brendan. I have fond memories of Donnellan’s newspaper shop at the west bridge. It became a part of the daily routine to call there for a paper, a comic, a stamp etc. It was open from early morning until late evening and Brendan was always friendly and courteous. He never showed impatience no matter how late the hour.He had a genuine interest in all his customers and loved to chat with them. Brendan is gone now to his eternal reward. God grant him heavenly peace.

So sad to hear that Brendan has passed. My deepest sympathy to his nephew and nieces at this sad time. Brendan was one of many in Loughrea who worked on our rota system to bring special needs people in to Galway to get an education - before the Dept. of Education came on board. I will never forget his kindness and how I admired that wonderful brain of yours Brendan - you were a mine of information with regard to Loughrea and it's people. Rest in Peace - never forgotten.

Donnellan’s Shop was the “activity” of the Westbridge, always a warm welcome and great chats for young and old. Brendan always kept the Twinkle for me - the highlight of my week as a child. Very sorry to hear this! I worked for Brendan, his mother and two sisters Annette and Mary in the late 80’s. They were a lovely family to work for. I was very fond of Brendan and could listen to him all day to the old stories he used to tell me!!! He always supported Alice and I in The Hungry Bookworm both in Abbey Street and Barrack Street! Rest in peace Brendan! ❤️❤️❤️
