Sincerest condolences to the Hiney family. I have fond memories of Mrs Hiney, committed teacher, great fiddle player and proud Irish woman. Her teachings live on in many corners of Ireland and the world beyond. May she Rest in Peace.

Over the last few years, Bríd held the position of secretary of the Meath Land Commission Heritage Group. She was a valued member, always generous with her time and talents, and had of late been researching the Land Commission resettlement in the Athboy area in the 1920s. She was a unique, wonderful and engaged woman, full of optimism and drive. Bríd will be sadly missed. We wish to extend our sympathies to her husband Pierce and family.

I had the pleasure of working with Bríd on an adult education project and was always so impressed by her enthusiasm and passion for whatever project she undertook.
