I have such wonderful and nostalgic memories of a lifetime trip to Boston in 1988 with former colleagues of Co. Galway VEC and Bridie was our host. And what a host she was. So hospitable and such joyous company. Bridie was always on the 'phone organising some GAA function or other and so busy. The VEC delegation was on a fundraising and promotional trip to USA and Bridie, Tim and Anne-Marie were so helpful to us. The late Conor Morris (RIP) then CEO, a proud Carnmore man, led the delegation and the Joyce and Egan families opened their homes and their hearts to us for our stay there.
Anne-Marie, it was so good to meet you again yesterday after all those years, even on such a sad occasion, and even better that you remembered our visit to your home.
You certainly did your mum proud at her funeral mass today.
She is now home on Irish soil and gone home to God.
May her generous and kind soul rest in eternal peace and may your lovely memories sustain and comfort you in the time ahead 🙏 X
