Una, I was really saddened to hear the news of Carmel’s passing. I’ve such hilarious and great memories of you 2 in cape cod back in the 1980’s with ourselves and my late brother Steve. Thinking of you may she rest peacefully.

To Dan, Christopher and the lovely McConnell family.

I was so saddened to hear of Carmels untimely passing. My fondest school memories of the beautifully kind Carmel was that she was always laughing.

The funniest memory was a school trip to The Recess Outdoor Activity Centre in Connemara. We absailed down a vertical, steep cliff like rock when it began raining. So we took shelter in the full sized tour bus. I spotted the keys in the ignition and said to the girls..we'll take it for a spin. The driver and teachers spotted with horror the bus heading down the road from the top of the cliff.
Carmel was bursting with laughter until the adults caught up with us.
An 8 mile walk back to the centre was our punishment until...en route we came across a little pub where we stopped for a rest and refreshments. We never stopped laughing despite the trouble we were in. Such fun.

Carmel, you were taken much too soon girlie. Yvonne x

I was very sorry to hear of Carmel's passing. Although it has been many years since we last met, I remember her

Carmel, we will dearly miss you from the Close. I am so grateful that my children will remember you as the kind person you were. Whether it be buying teddys from their bric a brac stand at the gate or the "lovely" lemonade on offer at the lemonade stand you will always be remembered in our home, so thank you for that.
