I first got to know Cathal many years ago when I was considering posting my art-work on social media. I came across his name having searched thro' his many many paintings of the beautiful landscapes of his native shore. Without knowing me or ever meeting up, he gave me every assistance in setting up my website and in getting me to join NewIrishArt. He was truly a decent man who shared his time with me without question. His art work was remarkable as ye all know and very sought after. He had an immense talent and will be truly missed. My thoughts are with you all at this sad time.

He and family visited us here in Ballindoon and made a lovely painting of Lough Arrow which hangs in our living room. We have a number of his paintings which we treasure!. Cathal and I chatted on January 20th last and planned to meet later in the year. Now sadly that won’t happen but I’ll treasure the happy memories through his beautiful paintings! A great Artist know all over the world for his beautiful art work and he was brilliant at it.
I had the pleasure of getting to know Cathal at one of his Art Classes.
He was so patient with us all and our class made some amazing paintings.
I have one left myself and the others I gave to my family and they were amazed at how good the painting were. Mostly down to Cathal attention to detail.
I love old cottages by the sea and the stone walls and the little boreens going up to-them.
I am proud of my paintings and that’s all down to Cathal’s brilliance and my own flair for art too.
Treasured memories now.
Any time I met Cathal in town I used to say any more classes coming up.
All his family will miss him sorely now too, but he has left brilliant memories everywhere now !!
