Brid On behalf of myself and my brothers and sisters Peter, Thomas, Ann, John and Winifred I wish to extend heartfelt condolences to you and your beloved children Aine, Sean, Mary, Kate and Liam on the death of their cherished Dad and your loved husband Cathal. Also condolences to all of his family. When I look back to my time spent in Clonliffe Road you and Cathal always come to mind. You were both such welcome visitors to our home and you were always so nice thoughtful and generous. It was only the other day I was thinking of you and how you were first with a present when my Son Andrew was born. Brid no words of mine can lessen Your grief but please know I will carry you and your children in my heart. We always had lovely memories of childhood and they always remain with us. I often think of you but especially now as I hold you close in my heart as you grieve. I have no doubt that Cathal is now walking the shore of his Heavenly Homeland with his people gone before watching and caring for you and your children Go dtuga Dia Suaimhneas siorrai do Cathal agus go dtuga Se solas Dibh go leir. Your cousin Teresa

Cathal and I were childhood buddies in Waterford in the late 60s/early 70s. We kept in touch for many years after but alas the width of the Atlantic meant we hadn't met a long time. His memory is always with me, most especially of happy days in Waterford (we were always getting into trouble), It is heart-breaking to see him taken in the prime of his life. My sincere condolences to his wife and children and also to Dearbhail, Rionach, Fionan and Cormac. May he rest in eternal peace, Eugene
— Eugene Gath

My heartfelt condolences to Brid and the children, and to Cathals sisters and brothers on the sudden passing of Cathal. I have known Cathal since he and my cousin Diarmuid Bhreathnach became friends many years ago. We all used to hang out together back in the day, going for 'one' in Goggins or in Dalkey and walking back by the railway line! Cathals party piece in Neeny's ( 17 Castlepark, St. Stephen's night when all of the Bhreathnach's, Quinn's and Dunnes were there, and Cathal!) was 'the bog down in the valley oh'. A true gentleman, a wonderful person, may his gentle soul rest in peace.
— Cecily Quinn
Go ndéana Dia trócaire ar a anam.
