I knew Charlie for many years at the UAE University, Al Ain, and I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing.

He was a private man and an unassuming colleague, one who offered a steady presence and quiet dedication to his work. His contributions were never about recognition, but about getting things done and supporting those around him.

I will remember Charlie not only for his professionalism but also for his kindness and humility. It was a privilege to work with him. Rest in peace Charlie.

I was a colleague of Charlie's over here in the UAE. He was so kind and helpful to me when I was thrown in the deep end at work - he spent hours keeping me afloat. He was truly appreciated and respected by us all.

What a sad, sad day! Charlie you were one of a kind and will be sadly missed by so many. Charlie was a person of integrity and honor. I remember him with great fondness. We worked together at United Arab Emirates University for more than a decade. The day I resigned from the university I went to his office to give my resignation and he said, “This is a sad day. You will be sorely missed Kimberly. You’re one of the best.” Ditto Charlie and right back at ya! God speed and condolences to your wife and family.

A truly kind, generous soul, Charlie was a wonderful friend who graced the lives of so many with his subtle support and chosen path of modeling empathy, patience and helpfulness. He was such an honorable man of great intelligence and wit, with a deep capacity for understanding. A gentle, gracious person, Charlie's light of goodness and caring will sorely be missed. Our deepest condolences to Charlie's family and friends.

I worked with Charlie at the United Arab Emirates University in 2009/2010. I was new to the organisation and very much appreciated his patience, wisdom and thoughtful guidance. My condolences to his family.

I'm very sorry to hear about Charlie's passing. I worked with him for thirteen years at UAEU. He was incredibly kind and a wonderful human being. Charlie was always a calm presence and had a level head. He had my great respect and admiration. Charlie will be missed.

I worked with Charlie at UAEU, and he was also a neighbor during that time. I remember his kindness and calm nature fondly. All my sympathy to the family and friends who have lost this wonderful man.

An incredibly sad loss to a world that desperately needs decent, kind, honorable gentlemen such as Charlie. Charlie was always there to help, always there to listen, and always there to be a friend. He had a wonderful, rich history of which he shared with great enthusiasm. This world will not see the likes again. My condolences to his family. Rest well, my dearest friend.
