My sincere sympathy on the sad passing of Colm. I was very lucky to have Colm as a teacher in Summerhill in the mid 70’s.A wonderful tutor but also a great mentor who passed on many life skills and I always enjoyed a good humored chat with Colm over the years in Sligo . RIP

Very sorry to hear of Colm's passing. I have fond memories of him teaching me mechanical drawing for the inter cert, and his teaching made that my favourite subject.
May Colm rest in peace.

Very sorry to hear of Mr Hannan's passing. My sympathy to Shane, Paul and Sinead for your loss. He was an inspiring and passionate teacher of Mechanical Drawing, who once remarked he was more proud of my 'C' grade that another's 'A' - such kindness to students was his measure and is not easily forgotten. Rest in peace.

I am also remembering Ann at this sad time. I was a colleague of Colm's in Summerhill for the first seven years of my career and the last seven of his. He was a mentor and a role model, and I am proud to say a friend. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

I will never forget my classes with Mr Hannan. There are I’m sure endless men like me who went through summerhill receiving encouragement and wisdom from Colm. Always ready to help and always patient. Rest in peace Colm you were one of the best.

To the Hannan family and friends. Very sad news of Mr Hannan's passing. I remember him teaching me Tech Drawing up to Inter Cert. We exchanged banter, unscheduled commentary and I despite myself, absorbed knowledge and flourished under Mr Hannan's guidance. I remember him giving me a lift home after I received my (repeat) Leaving results. I couldn't have thought of a better person to be part of one of my last memories as a student of Summerhill. That was many years ago and Mr Hannan has never been forgotten, certainly not by myself. Look after yourselves.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Colm Hannan. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time. May you find strength, comfort, and peace in the love and support that surrounds you, and may Colm’s memory be a blessing to all who knew him.
