Dear Patsy,John, Majella, Sinéad, brother: Brendan and the extended Jones/ Burke families- Please accept my sincerest sympathy on the passing of dear CYRIL- beloved husband, father and grandfather. Just noticed on rip.ie( 8 April) that my dear friend CYRIL died last week.
Fond and everlasting memories of my visit to Miltown Malbay in Summer 2018. Patsy and CYRIL were my generous hosts for my memorable visit. CYRIL gave me a guided tour of Miltown Malbay, Spanish Point, Quilty etc. We walked the Clifftop together from White Strand to the Freagh Boathouse. CYRIL had a most amazing memory and a really magnificent store of local knowledge. At the Invitation of CYRIL, I was deeply honoured and privileged to speak at White Strand on John Holland Snr.- Father of the Submarine Inventor. I will always treasure - CYRIL- Ur Gifts of a DVD of the lectures in White Strand and the copy of “Lovely Old Miltown Malbay”. In truth, CYRIL, ní bheidh do leithéid arís ann. Slán leat go fóill dear friend.
