I met Dave at my mums funeral down the road two weeks ago and we had a great animated chat about the olde days.He was a great friend of my Dad's and he was a great raconteur.I hope the happy memories will help to ease the sorrow.May his gentle soul rest in peace.

My sympathy to the Lenihan family on the death of Dave. I have very good memories of a very pleasant gentleman fishing at the weir in Galway. In 1985 I caught the first salmon of the year which Dave bought for 600 euros which he donated to Concern. May he now reap the reward for this and all his many charitable deeds.

Sincere condolences Rita and all the family. I have great memories of Dave when we were kids - playing the spoons, telling jokes, lots and lots of fish, Saint Patrick’s Day in the Kings Head and more. May he RIP. Best wishes, Carina
