I was very lucky to have such a comrade, he was the backbone of our old(and missed) construction "branch".
Dave led from the front as all his old comrades will testify. I first met him labouring on site together, encouraging me to join 'the construction "branch" of SIPTU.
Thanks Dave for all the experiences we shared together.

Zenouska and Zephirah, We are so sad to hear about Davids passing. We loved stopping for a chat on the road could be 3 or 4 times a day, he was always having a laugh with the kids. Deepest sympathies to David’s family. Himself and Punky were inseparable, and we often crossed paths on doggie walks when only early risers or other dog walkers would face out. He was a kind man who loved animals, and was always willing to take the time to help someone looking for a lost dog. Life dealt him some tough cards, may he rest in peace.

I’m very sad that Davy has left us. He was a great friend and fantastic work colleague. His commitment to trade unionism was unmatched and was at the heart of everything he did for workers. I had the pleasure of working with him for a good number of years and he was a fearless comrade through some very tough battles. May he rest now in peace.

We often spoke about your visits to my mam in 79 Barton Drive after your communions. I know that your mam and dad will continue to look after you and I hope in time knowing they are both together will bring you both comfort. My thoughts will be with you in the days and weeks ahead.
